WeTip is a digital tipping service. Visitors scan a QR code with their phone, then select the specific employee/s they want to tip and directly via apple pay, google pay or credit/debit card give the tip they want.
Visitors can also leave reviews of the employee’s service. WeTip also offers a dashboard to hotel managers, which displays useful information like tip totals per employee or group and also guest reviews.
The problem
In today’s cashless society, hospitality workers are losing tips. This has a major impact on the hospitality industry. A 2023 study found that 60% of hotel guests carry less cash with them compared to 5 years ago.
In addition, the study found that over 70% of the guests who did not tip would have tipped if digital tipping had been available and nearly 70% of tipping guests would have tipped more if digital tipping had been available.
WeTip solves this problem by making it easy for guests to tip hotel and restaurant workers, even if they don’t have cash on them.
Our proposal
WeTip provides a three-dimensional solution:
1) For hotel managers: By using our dashboard, managers can get useful information on staff performance not only regarding tip amounts but also reviews and ratings left by guests after they have tipped. WeTip also helps with the problem of staff retention as when the total income of employees increases, they tend to remain with the same employer (hotel).
20 For the employee: It increases their total income as they benefit from a new tipping channel.
3)For the guest: Enables digital and personalized tipping and anonymous reviews through a digital platform. Think about how many times you didn’t tip because you simply didn’t have spare change or cash on you!
