"I have an idea!", "What do you think of this idea?", "I have no idea why no one has implemented this yet" are some of the phrases you hear more often than you think. Given that tourism is a pillar of the Greek economy, which is increasingly trying to rely on its own strengths, and with the prospects of the domestic and global tourism market tending to boom in terms of start-up entrepreneurship, Capsule^T Travel & Hospitality Accelerator through the 3rd Idea Platform competition is looking for ideas that could potentially solve practical problems in tourism. Innovative solutions that can evolve into startups with a positive impact on the digital transformation of the Greek tourism industry. The Capsule^T Travel & Hospitality Accelerator of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, for the 3rd year, seeks to contribute to the upgrading of the Greek tourism product by inviting young people to participate in the 12-day competitive program, which will be full of mentoring sessions, speeches by industry experts, separate workshops, cash prizes, and will enable the three (3) winners - if they wish - to participate in the 5th cycle of the Acceleration Programme, in order to further develop their business activity. In an attempt to answer the question: "What do I have to gain if I join the 3rd Idea Platform?", we reached out to five (5) of the startups that managed to successfully complete both Capsule^T competition programs and evolve into growing tourism businesses. Tourmie, Vivestia, Hotilities, MintQR and Tripinwise share with us their experience in the Ideas program and invite you to register now!

Tourmie

Through the Idea Platform we achieved a number of objectives: 1) The support of new innovative ideas, 2) guidance to improve or change the initial idea through a workshop, 3) presentation of the final result to a panel of experienced tourism and technology startup executives. Despite the fact that our team was formed only 3 months before the application, we managed to coordinate, prepare ourselves properly for the telecommuting conditions that followed and better organize our work remotely, using the appropriate digital tools. We also got in touch with other tech startup founders, which helped us to improve our understanding of the importance of properly organizing our team in order to achieve greater productivity. By completing the program and winning 3rd place (and then 2nd place in the 3rd cycle of the Capsule^T Acceleration Program), we confirm that Idea Platform more than met our expectations, transforming Tourmie into what it is today. A digital assistant for guests of an accommodation, regardless of its size. Advising new teams: If you want to contribute in a more sustainable way to improving the operation of the tourism industry, Idea Platform is the perfect place to start. A unique ticket for young professionals who want to improve their skills and gain valuable knowledge for a dynamic start in the world of travel tech!

Vivestia

The Idea Platform was a useful step for our startup's progress while it was in its early stages, and gave us the opportunity to meet with people in the tourism industry, as well as the startup community, which we needed. We got in touch with professionals who advised us, interacted with people from big businesses, discussed our company model and used the feedback we received to improve our service. The entire Idea Platform format contained useful information that helped us follow the next short-term stages of our development. The mentoring sessions in particular provided us with tips on pricing our service - which we implemented - and also with insights into finding customers. Also, winning 1st place opened the way for us to the Capsule^T accelerator and the 4th cycle, where we had the opportunity to continue our momentum, winning 1st place in the Accelerator Program as well! Advising the new teams: Idea Platform is a unique opportunity for early stage startups to gain experience in the industry, seek advice from mentors and learn short but important lessons about running a company. Aim high, seek and absorb the knowledge that is given to you!

Hotilities

During the Idea Platform "risk free" but crucial changes to our original idea came up. The project environment, however, as it is built, created the conditions for us to get the right directions and improve our services. We were quickly able to openly convey to a very targeted and experienced audience our idea and our perspective on the problem we were solving, with the mentoring sessions being particularly helpful. Trained individuals from successful startups communicated their experiences with us and opened up avenues of thinking on many problems, and the key lesson we learned is the necessity for pluralism and different perspectives from one team. Advising new teams: Believe in your idea, invest in it and take the risk to enter the project world!

MintQR

With the help of the Idea Platform you learn how to evaluate your idea, plan it and implement it. One of the most important parts of the program were the workshops and the contact with professionals who are already at the next step. We received accumulated experience and knowledge from young people who are willing to share it. The workshops are not theoretical, there are real steps that already successful startups took. Finally, the contacts and connections made through the program have led to solid partnerships with both people within the program and companies that attend and support it. Advising the new teams: Don't be afraid to share your ideas, an idea on the shelf has no value. The Idea Platform is the fastest route to proof of concept.

Tripinwise

The Idea Platform gave us a framework and a structure to develop our idea, brought us in contact with other teams, while giving us the opportunity to exchange implementation strategies and enrich our idea. Through the targeted workshops we gained knowledge about the development of our product, but also a real insight into the tourism market. Finally, we formed our team and created our first mvp. Advising the new teams: The result comes from the overall effort and friction of a team during the Idea Platform.
