Nable Solutions is an awarded startup providing software solutions with a social cause. We are a team of passionate individuals who want to change the way people with reduced mobility or disabilities experience the world. We worked together and created the “Assistant”, a software solution that helps organizations and companies to consider and improve their current accessibility provisions, while it offers people with reduced mobility or disabilities comprehensive assistance, helping them fully engage with the society. With the “Assistant” we aim to include all the stakeholders in tourism to ensure that each supplier adequately addresses customers’ access requirements and that suppliers cooperate with each other, to create an unbroken chain of accessibility for the people with reduced mobility or disabilities that meets their expectations.
The problem
Tourism is one of the fastest growing sectors of the global economy. Nowadays, there are around 1,2 billion people travelling the world. However, for many people, including the 15% of the world population with some form of disability and many others such as senior citizens and people with mobility issues, travelling can be a challenging process throughout the entire tourism supply chain. People with disabilities or other access requirements can face barriers within the tourism sector in many destinations. For example, it can be very frustrating when requested support is delayed or just not in place, or when searching for suitable venues and tourism services it’s difficult to find clear information on the accessibility of the offered services. This is happening because of the way things are set up. Our world has been designed for people without disabilities. The essence of accessibility is not limited to the narrow context of evaluating an organization’s facilities, but concerns the overall life cycle of an organization (facilities, services, products). Accessibility means the characteristics of the environment, which allow all people without discrimination to have access to it, to be able to independently and safely use the facilities and services available in that environment. So, one organization’s “ability” to accessibility is a crucial criterion for the selection of a disabled person, as well as the optimal preparation of their staff in order to offer personalized services.
Our proposal
Η λύση μας βασίζεται σε τρεις βασικούς πυλώνες: «πληροφόρηση, επικοινωνία, ασφάλεια». Αποτελείται από cloud-based web πλατφόρμα, mobile applications και sensors και εφαρμόζοντας τεχνολογίες Artificial Intelligence, επιτυγχάνει να συνδέει τα άτομα με αναπηρία με τους οργανισμούς και τις εταιρείες δημιουργώντας ένα ψηφιακό «εργαλείο» που τους βοηθάει στο κάθε βήμα του ταξιδιού τους, προσφέροντας βελτιωμένη εξυπηρέτηση και εξαιρετική ταξιδιωτική εμπειρία. Η “Assistant” θα αποτελεί το «σημείο επαφής» της εξυπηρέτησης πελατών των οργανισμών και εταιρειών. Ακόμα, η “Assistant” παρέχει ένα κανάλι επικοινωνίας που επιτρέπει στα άτομα με αναπηρία να ζητήσουν βοήθεια ή στις εταιρείες να στέλνουν ειδοποιήσεις/ενημερώσεις σε πραγματικό χρόνο, καθώς επίσης ένα δυναμικό σύστημα παρακολούθησης για την αξιολόγηση και παρακολούθηση της προσβασιμότητας, επιτρέποντας τη συνεχή βελτίωση με βάση την εμπειρία των ατόμων με αναπηρία.
